Lara Dutta must be walking on Cloud 9 these days. Her beginning in Bollywood was not up to the mark with movies like ANDAAZ, MUMBAI SE AAYA MERA DOST etc. Her last movie JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM did not work well at the box office but her performance and glamorous look in the movie was highly appreciated. This week she has yet another big release in the form of David Dhavan’s PARTNER. She is paired opposite none other than SALMAN KHAN along with GOVINDA and KATRINA KAIF as co stars. The audience and critics have again appreciated her glamorous look and performance.
It seems LARA is slowly but steadily proving her presence felt in Bollywood. And she promises to be one of the established and matured actors in coming years.
A number of titles have been proposed for Anubhav Sinha's CASH, both by the print as well as the electronic media. Some like ANUBHAV SINHA'S CASH are funny, others such as CASH WITH RIGHT BABY, make for interesting reading. Another revolutionary suggestion is GONE WITH THE CASH!
When we talked to the concerned people (who we would not like to name at this stage, at their own request), the matter of fact is that the final release title of CASH is still to be decided. And it will only be by Monday that a conclusive decision regarding the same is expected.
We can also tell you that CASH (the title as of today) will have a huge release, with about 700 prints (including digital) and the opening on 27th July is expected to be breathtaking.
In his most candid interview till date, superstar Salman Khan has talked of his ‘evil’ side and about how, when he wants something, he can find a way that is ‘not clean’ to get it.
Salman was baring his heart on the TIMES NOW show ‘Frankly Speaking’, and in response to a question as to how he had changed in the last 18 years since his film debut.
“I have grown a little bit with a bit of maturity”, he said, “If I have to do something then I can find out a way that is not a clean way. If I want to get something or I want to do something, then I can scheme, I can plan. So I have my own problems in my mind, I could get vicious. It is my conscious effort to control that and not to go to the evil side.”
When told that everyone has a evil side, Salman said, “I have got a tremendous evil side that I don’t like. I know this is good, this is bad, and what the right way is. And that is my constant battle, my constant fight with myself.”
Salman also spoke extensively for the first time about grappling with the prospect of going to jail again, in the black buck case. The film star, whose career has been riddled with controversies, said he had even “stopped going to parties” because “he would get into trouble every time”.
“When people say that they are so lonely I want to ask them what they mean. I mean, who is better than you spending time alone. Being lonely is when nobody wants to be with you. Being alone is your choice. I’d rather be alone than be lonely. I have been to jail a couple of times. I never got bored of me,” said Salman, an interesting comment especially at a time when there is intense speculation about his imminent marriage with girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
Comparing himself to the other two Khans’, Salman said that he is much more “chilled out” and that the others work too hard. “Shahrukh is very very dedicated very hard working. Aamir is ten times as hard working than Shahrukh can be. As for me, I am chilled out. I have fun when I do my movies. I want to enjoy myself, if you are in the entertainment business you cannot take this so seriously.”
On a lighter note, when his habit of taking off his shirt, was compared to Saurav Ganguly taking off his shirt at the Lords cricket stadium in London, Salman had some advice for the former India captain.
“Sourav should not have done it. I mean, you must have something to show. Come on, Sourav Ganguly taking off his shirt!” he laughed.
Don’t miss the most candid interview of Salman Khan ever only on TIMES NOW’s Frankly Speaking with Arnab Goswami on Sunday.
"Shilpa Shetty is not fighting off the men. She's single and ready to mingle," said her publicist and spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar, replying to a query by the BBC, this week.
"Let her get the right guy and she's sure to settle down. But right now, there isn't one," he added.
So what about the rumours regarding her marriage circulating in the media about NRI businessman Raj Kundra? "Mr Kundra is her friend and has helped her in the launch of her perfume S2 in UK. But let me insist that the marriage rumours are speculatory."
Do such stories upset Shilpa? "Yes, she does get a little upset at times, but I guess she is now coming to terms with the fact that such rumours are part and parcel of being an international celebrity," Bhagwagar observed. "Shilpa is a great human being and all the recent success and international stardom hasn't changed her nature at all. She remains the smiling, loving and affectionate down-to-earth girl," he remarked.
When asked if he feels we are having an overdose of Shilpa, Bhagwagar retorted, "Being in the media glare only hurts when one hasn't got anything to talk about. But after METRO, APNE and the launch of her signature perfume; Shilpa received the honorary doctorate in UK. Coming up is a DVD video on Yoga to be shot in the Himalayas; a chain of restaurants – starting with one in Central London; her cookery book; her signature designer wear collection; a Broadway musical and the role of Sita in Uru Patel's international venture HANUMAN. These will be followed by other interesting announcements which we have currently kept under wraps. With so much to talk about, one can't avoid the media attention."
